Classroom Guidelines

Attendance and Behavior:

  • Attendance policy as outlined in student handbook/planner (pp 31-33) will be followed.

  • Information pertaining to specific school rules

  • Consult the handbook/planner for policies regarding credit for makeup work (p. 33). Grades may be
changed to reflect excused/unexcused/truancy/suspension absences as information is available to the
    instructor.

  • It is in the student's best interest to complete make-up work whether or not credit will be granted.

  • It is the student's responsibility to contact the instructor for assignments missed as a result of any
    absence (p. 33).

  • Students who miss class will need to makeup work before or after school, or during lunch or study
periods. The Business Department lab is usually available from 7:10 a.m. until 7:30, and from 1:50 until
3:00.  Need to make arrangements before the day you would like to attend with me.

  • Because a tardy that is in excess of five minutes is treated as an unexcused absence, partial credit for
that day's assignments will be given in accordance with procedures for unexcused absences. Grades may
be changed to reflect excused/unexcused absence as information is available to the instructor.

  • Not all people are in agreement as to what is acceptable/appropriate classroom language. The classroom
teacher shall determine what is and is not acceptable in the classroom. If you are in doubt about the use
of a word or phrase, chances are it is not acceptable.
