Advanced Software

 

Course Description

This course prepares students to work with Microsoft Office 2010 in a career setting or for personal use. Using courseware that incorporates a step-by-step, project-based case study approach, students develop an introductory-level competency in Office 2010 and explore the essential features of Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8.0. Students also develop an understanding of fundamental computer hardware and software concepts.

Grades will be given for tests, projects, homework assignments, classroom activities, and quizzes
(announced and unannounced).

 

Grading Scale:*

 

A - 90-100

B - 80-89

C - 70-79

D - 60-69

F -  0-59%

 

QTR1 45%

QTR2 45%

Final  10%

Class Supplies

Students must have a folder for handouts, a notebook for assignments and notes, and a pen or pencil in
class each day. The Computer Keyboarding textbook may only be taken home in certain special circumstances with approval from the teacher and the department chairperson.
